Are you available for consultations or psychotherapy?

If you live in the Bay area, please contact my office (650 856 0302). We can explore what it might be like to work together and, if we both believe it might be helpful to proceed, we can talk about what the current waiting time is and whether you wish to be on the waiting list or prefer a referral.
I consult with people long distance, both nationally or internationally, by phone.  (We often use Skype.)  If you wish to be on the waiting list for long distance consultation, please email me through this website or leave a phone message at any time of the day or night at (local number) 650 856 0302.

Do I have to know about Jung or dreams or be an artist to work with you?

Not at all. I had the good fortune to be exposed to training in several school of therapy. Different kinds of therapy are suited to different kinds of therapists, people and situations.

I do like to make sure that there is a good match between your personality, values, goals and my training, personality, and styles of working. I also take pleasure in matching people with experienced therapists. Some people want to do brief work on specific problems; others don't have a specific problem but want to explore dreamwork, psychospiritual development, increased awareness of the relationship between the psyche and the body, the process of individuation and to enrich their relationship with their inner world.

I'm more interested in executive coaching. Do you do that too?

I delight in working with executives in whose work I believe. I work with them in a variety of ways depending on their goals. While my schedule is very committed, I try to keep some time available for specialized work of this kind, especially work that allows for heavy travel schedules. I am happy to work with in-person meetings and/or long distance phone consultations depending on the executive's schedule.  I have great respect for executives who are attempting to enrich their inner life and draw on its resources at the same time that they are so committed to large projects and teams. Please contact my office at (650)856 0302 or email me at jillmellick@jillmellick.com to discuss these possibilities further.

I'm a therapist. Do you run consultation groups for therapists?

I don't run groups. But I do individual consultation with therapists. I learn so much! Of course it depends on the nature of the consultation and our schedules. If you'd like to be on a waiting list for consultation, please phone my office (650 856-0302 and we'll talk. If I'm not the best person for your consultation needs, I'll be happy to refer you to a colleague.

Do you supervise trainees for expressive arts therapy certification?

Yes, I do. I do this individually at my office.

Do you consult with therapists and dreamers on your particular approaches to dream work?

It depends on the nature of the request and my availability but I am always happy to explore possibilities and make referrals if I don’t believe I am able to meet your request.

Do you teach anywhere I might take classes with you on an ongoing basis?

No. Until recently, I was a Full Professor (part-time) and Founder/Director of the Creative Expression masters and doctoral level programs at the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California. However, I resigned in order to have more time for my own art pursuits. Please contact their website for more information about the creative expression programs offered on campus, online, and through the extension program. One way to "study" with me is to enroll in any one of several modules of study that I have developed for the ITP Global Program that enable you to do more in-depth work with a mentor specially trained to lead you through my materials. The modules include units on women's spiritual development, creative expression, and transpersonal psychotherapy. I may occasionally teach an advanced seminar.
